Players from Kruger Port, the local village football team, volunteered to help us put the roof on.

Many of the women from the church group helped build the centre.
Initially, the concept was to build a crèche through funds donated from overseas donors, in partnership with the community of Bennde Mutale. A local church group was in need of a worship center and it was suggested that they build the church and that Friends of Mutale could use the building as a crèche during the week.
This progressed into a Learning Centre and a church (United African Apolostic Church), both groups having rights to use the building and its facilities for the benefit of the community at large.Friends of Mutale pursues "a partnership of educaton & fun"; hence, the Learning Centre now houses a creche, after-school programmes, a small library and 5 computers.
